Well I had an absolutely wonderful time at FC this year. As I've mentioned before, I really wasn't planning on attending at all, so it was really quite a spur of the moment thing to head out there like that. Hats off to Casi, Nuku, and his girlfriend, for allowing me to room with them at the last minute.
To everyone who was hoping Autumn would make an appearance, I'm sorry to have disappointed you by not bringing her. I tried, but the baggage restrictions and luggage sizes available to me prevented it from happening. Perhaps next year I'll have a large enough (and sturdy enough) carrier to allow for more than one suit.
As far as the con goes, it was a blast. I sat in on a couple panels, watched a couple shows, and spent the rest of the time just prancing about and socializing with everyone there. I was in 'suit at least a good five hours, virtually non-stop, each day. I was really flattered by the attention Bridget was receiving from everyone. I really wasn't quite sure how well a kigurumi style costume would go over, but people really seemed to enjoy her. Of course I was tickled pink to see her show up in Sunday's FC newsletter. Anyone snag a copy of that? I didn't hang onto one, unfortunately. ;(
But I have updated my gallery with some of the pics I managed to take while there. Since I was in suit so much, I really didn't take as many as I could have. But I found my camera is woefully under-equipped for the rapid-fire quick-draw nature that is most con photography. I really really need a good flash that I can aim and bounce.
I also managed to get a good portion of video of Stria's mad creations, Ozgar, Swah, and Weagle, rampaging about and slobbering on everything. Folks really got a kick out of them as they shambled too and fro. Even the non-furs that happened to be staying in the hotel at the time loved their freaky zombie-like cuddliness.
Along with them I got a bit of footage of a few other suits on cam, and also passed off the camcorder to a friend who helped film Bridget a bit. Unfortunately he's got a cane in one hand, so the footage is fairly shaky but usable. Everything will be in HD on
my website, or up on
my YouTube profile.Speaking of which, I did manage to get my pictures online. Normally I edit the hell out of everything before posting it, but at the rate I move, it'd be March before I'd be finished.
You can view them here. All in all, I was really sad to see it all end. I'm definitely going to plan on it again next year. :)
